I am experiencing some issues lately. Once I press shut down in start menu the system begins the shutting down process. I can see the the dots running in a circle and below a text saying the system is about to turn off. After the system is turned off it restarts automatically with seconds delay.

I have checked the power settings in control panel switched to performance mode and turned off the sleep and hibernate options. I have disabled every wake up event in my motherboard’s BIOS. I have uploaded the CBS. log to cloud storage if it helps. log file. It’s possible that the system files that SFC could not fix are causing your computer to restart after shutting it down.

We’d like to learn more about your concern so we could provide the proper resolution. We just have a few questions for you:. Which version of Windows 10 is on your computer? To find out, click Start , type winver and press enter. Did you make any recent changes on your computer before this started happening? Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn’t help. Thanks for your feedback. I have changed my graphic adapter installed the latest driver and also some system utilization monitoring programs CPU-Z, MSI afterbuner, Fraps, Rivatuner Statistics.

I have had similar issues in the past with one of my older machines I think I had to turn off Fast Startup to resolve the problem I have already tried that option even made my own power scheme and set everything to performance but the problem still persists. I believe that if I fixed the corrupted windows files the issue would be resolved, however I don’t know the workaround for that. As far as your corrupt files you might try looking for the DISM command to “Restore Health”.. You may need installation media for that I don’t have much experience with SFC and DISM as I usually reinstall or reload a working image I did check my notes more closely and found that turning off Fast Startup on my machine was not what resolved the problem I created a Shutdown shortcut as described in the link It seems to work differently than the normal shutdown processes, and the problem is gone If you look at the very bottom of the article, it lists parameters to create a Restart Shortcut as well Windows now uses some type of Task Kill command for shutdown instead of the previous “Shutdown” command which this shortcut uses I have also tried to manually repair the corrupted file, I copied the opencl.

dll from another machine, but it didn’t solve the restarting issue. I am pretty much at a loss as far as a fix is concerned I can only suggest that you look at Scheduled Tasks to see if there is anything suspicious You might also want to disable the utilities you mentioned Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community.
